The reviews kept coming in and recognized Emily's Cuvee Pinot Noir as one of the best                               Russian River Pinot Noirs, at any price. The rest of the portfolio is pretty                                                     awesome too.  (Check out the "LB" Chardonnay).

Walker Station
Walker Station Russian River Pinot Noir & Chardonnay

The 2008's are stunning!  I have said it before, I have to say this is the finest domestic                              Chardonnay and Pinot, that I have tasted.   Many of you will remember how quickly the 45                        cases of 2004 disappeared.  In addition to the Chardonnay, this vintage marks the fourth                           release of a Walker Station Pinot Noir, from Harry's Estate Vineyard "Leslie Ranch", a short                     distance from the Chardonnay Vineyard.  Both wines are made by Paul Hobbs as have been all                 previous vintages of Chardonnay.

2008 Walker Station "Leslie" Pinot Noir $67.95/btl
Very rich, full bodied and elegant with aromas of dark cherry, heirloom roses, cinnamon, nutmeg, new leather and a faint trace of cigar box, it begs to be inhaled and enjoyed before sipping. On the palate the cherry and cinnamon are pronounced with hints of cola and sarsaparilla giving way to a medley of exotic spices including clove, nutmeg, allspice and a whisper of fresh garden herbs.

2008 Walker Station "The Bridge" Chardonnay  $67.95/btl
With 140 cases total production, I expect this awesome Chardonnay to be history long before it reaches its peak of maturity. Unbelievably rich, almost decadent, on the palate with a wonderfully complex nose of vanilla, Meyer lemon, walnut, hint of mango and other tropical fruits and nutmeg.
The aromas follow through and are intensified in the mouth. The mouth feel is rich and complete filling every part of the palate with full flavor, perfect balance, viscosity without heaviness, elegance and enjoyment.  To sum it up - a complete wine with the promise of many years of graceful improvement.

2007 Ketcham Estate Russian River Valley Pinot, $37.95/btl
Winemakers Notes: Aromatics: Spicy red cherry, raspberry and ripe                                                     cranberry notes are at the forefront with subtle hints of fresh strawberry,                                                  rose petal and light brown spice.
Palate: Superbly balanced on entry this wine delivers a soft supple texture                                              backed up by an underlying backbone framed by refreshing acidity and                                                   soft, round tannins.  Flavors of fresh cherry and crushed raspberries                                                        surround the palate and are highlighted by a bit of cinnamon and cranberry.

Reviews are from Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate

2007 Walter Hansel North Slope Pinot Noir $36/btl
"From cool-climate soils, the 2007 Pinot Noir North Slope (Dijon clone 115                                               exclusively) is another admirable Pinot Noir. Notes of root vegetables, underbrush,                                    clove, cinnamon, and oodles of black cherry and black currant fruit are present in this                                dark ruby/purple-tinged wine. Good acidity, full-bodied power, and plenty of                                               concentration and depth characterize this very promising Pinot, which should evolve                                  for at least a decade"  92-94 Parker

2007  Walter Hansel  Pinot Noir South Slope $36/btl
"From Dijon clone 777, the 2007 Pinot Noir South Slope is from the highest elevation                                 of any of the Hansel vineyards (and there are 80 acres). It has deep plum and                                           pomegranate notes with hints of sassafras and wood spice. The wine displays a                                       nice, subtle smokiness, medium to full body, good acidity, and a long finish.                                            Unfortunately, there is very little made." 91-93 Parker

2007 Walter Hansel North Slope Chardonnay $36/btl
"From one of the colder sites in the Hansel portfolio, the 2007 Chardonnay North Slope has an almost liqueur of rocks interwoven with nectarine and honeyed citrus. A wine of terrific intensity, full-bodied power, but restrained wood and great acidity, this is a beauty that should drink nicely for 5 or more years." 94 Parker

DARK HORSE 2007 Dry Creek Zinfandel - Treborce Vineyard

Mike has developed a reputation for making rich, jammy Zinfandels that are satisfying, and                    keep people coming back for more; even the so-called "I don't drink Zinfandel" crowd. This                        2007 Dry Creek Zin may be the best Zinfandel Mike has made, in my humble opinion. Rich in                   jammy black cherry, intense wild berry, smoke and licorice. It has cinnamon and clove                             aromas followed by both white and cracked black pepper. An odds-on favorite to please.

2008 Venge Scouts Honor Retails $36/btl
"Beautiful dark purple-black color and a captivating nose of sweet raspberry milk                                    chocolate, cherries and black current. Followed by pure and layered flavors of black                              raspberry, blackberries and black current. A blend of power and concentration with the                         Zinfandel adding lush berry flavors, Syrah adding dark fruit flavors and the Petite Syrah                           giving it intensity and structure. Full-bodied with well-polished tannins that coat the                                palate with a lush and lingering finish."

2006 Venge Reserve Cabernet Retails $115-$125
"The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Family Reserve is an exceptional 2006. Blackberry liqueur intermixed with creme de cassis, licorice, incense, and floral notes as well as a hint of subtle oak emerge from the glass of this full-bodied, super-concentrated, rich, intense wine. A baby in terms of its potential development, it will benefit from 5-10 years of bottle age and should drink well for 20 or more years - that's a given." 95 Points, Robert Parker

From The Wine Enthusiast-"EDITORS CHOICE"
"What a beautiful Pinot Noir for drinking now with lamb chops or maybe a rich, exotic Ahi tuna tartare. Brilliantly crisp in acidity, with a clean, bracing mouthfeel, it offers dazzingly rich flavors of raspberries, cherries, orange zest, Dr. Pepper cola and Asian spices, with smoky oak adding elaborate tiers of vanilla char. For the price, it's a great buy." 95 Points
